Welcome to the Department of Diagnostic Radiology
Dr S L Fransman Prize in Diagnostic Radiology
Established by Dr. S.L. Fransman and Mrs. Bertha Fransman. Awarded to a fourth year medical student who is entering a residency program specializing in Diagnostic Radiology.
Residency program
The Department of Radiology offers a five-year residency program which imparts our trainees with the knowledge and skills to be excellent radiologists, whether heading directly into practice or to further subspecialty training, and to write their specialty examinations in Diagnostic Radiology
The Department of Radiology at Queen's University delivers quality tertiary care imaging for a population of approximately 600,000 people. As the only tertiary care centre in the region, our large referral base encompasses the area between Belleville and Brockville, and Smith Falls to Lake Ontario. Patients are diagnosed and treated for a wide variety of disease processes at Kingston General Hospital and Hotel Dieu Hospital. As part of the School of Medicine at Queen's University, we also maintain a busy academic practice which includes the training of radiology residents.
